“Ahhhhh! Ahhhhh!,” Pepe yelled as he ran from the hungry hyenas. “Help! Help!,” his legs were aching from running hard on the harsh ground of the savannah. The heat pressed in on him crushing him in defeat. Suddenly he fell and was too exhausted to get up.
—¡Retírense de la batalla, soldados! –El caballero gritó a los hombres que luchaban a pie–. ¡Parece que el rey nos ha enviado a una trampa! ¡Esto es una trampa! El rey nos mintió. ¡Salven sus vidas!
Pepe cerró el libro. No podía seguir leyendo. ¿Cómo puede ser tan malo un rey? ¿Cómo pudo ese rey enviar a su gente a morir? ¿Cuál era su motivo? ¡Qué corazón tan horrible tenía ese rey!
“Retreat from battle, soldiers!” The knight shouted to the men fighting on foot. “It looks like the king sent us to a trap! This is a trap! The king lied to us. Run for your lives!”
Pepe closed the book. He couldn’t continue reading. How could a king be so bad? How could that king send his people to die? What was his motive? What a horrible heart that king had!
